Garbage Pickup  

Weekly garbage pickup services are provided to residents within the city limits. Garbage is collected on Monday’s beginning at 7 a.m. If a legal holiday falls on a Monday, then collection will take place on Tuesday.

Requirements for collection services:  

• Only household garbage will be collected.


• All garbage must be bagged and placed within a can with a lid in tact. No bags are to be placed on top of the cans.


• Cans must be placed at the end of the driveway and away from objects such as mailboxes.


• Cans must be removed from the right of way once they have been emptied.

Recycling Pickup  

Another service offered to residents is collection of recyclable materials. The city will provide one bin per household. Bins are available at City Hall. Curbside collection is on each Friday. All bins must be placed at curbside no later than 8:00 a.m. Recyclable items include: aluminum, plastics #1 & #2, glass, newspapers, magazines, corrugated cardboard that is clean & flattened (no pizza boxes) and tin cans.  

Annual Clean Up Days  

Two weekends per year (April & October) the city sponsors a beautification program known as “Dump the Junk”. The City furnishes dumpsters along Main Street and encourages our citizens to clean up their property. Citizens are notified in advance of the dates by receiving a pass card from the city.
